What this is

This USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture program funds Extension education and outreach initiatives specifically designed for federally recognized Tribes. The $102,000 fixed award supports informal education delivery addressing unique Tribal community needs—likely in agriculture, natural resources, health, or workforce development. Applicants must be eligible organizations with capacity to serve Tribal populations; this is not a general competitive grant and has narrow eligibility constraints tied to tribal affiliation or institutional partnership.

Who can apply

Only organizations explicitly eligible as Federally Recognized Tribes Extension Program applicants can apply—typically tribal governments, tribal colleges, land-grant universities with tribal extension capacity, or authorized tribal non-profits. See Additional Information on Eligibility for precise definitions. Not open to for-profit companies or general startups.
